The food is pretty average, but as a bar, I like Casey's. When I lived in Rockford, it was my go-to spot, since it was less than 8 minutes from my condo via side streets. This would help minimize, ummm, the skilled driving necessary to make it home after leaving Casey's. The Good: - The bartenders know their shit, and the drinks are strong and cheap. - The DJ always has good music on. - Multiple screens for sports. - A couple pool tables and bags - dance floor - free gifts cards monthly in the mail if you sign up The Bad: - Menu is limited, and food is average. - On weekend nights, parking lot can get crowded Overall, I liked Casey's, even taking the effort to drive a little farther to get to it despite living right across the street from Jax Pub. I had many fond memories with friends and coworkers here, and I look forward to stopping in again next time I'm in Rockford.

They treat employees like trash. If they don't sell $10 tickets to customers for dinners they take the money out of their checks. That's immoral and ILLEGAL. And why was I charged 50¢ to take my leftovers home? When I questioned the bartender she said that was straight from the owners. If they can't treat those girls with respect I don't care to give Casey's my money. I welcome a response from the owners disputing the above. Update ---- And this is the owners response to me. Unbelievable. What a piece of work. The guy that owns this place is a complete jerk. He's singling out an employee. I wasn't and won't name which employees confided in me but I can tell you it's not "Jen". I've been coming in there for awhile. Never again. Nor will my friends or family. nick f. Business Owner Thanks Jason... I agree 100% with you bud! I sent you another message... from my email account I believe. If I could only guess Jen said if I don't sell these tickets for Special Olympics they are going to take $$ from my check... Right... well that was said, yes by me.... as a way to boost some motivation into them to raise money for a great cause... are we going to take $$ from their checks... NO! I'm just doing my best to help others in need and great organization.. If you'd like to buy one, let me know.. I got 5 to sell too! Dinner is next Tues... Anything else I can do for you? And his first message. Hi Jason, Nick F. sent you a message on Yelp: Subject: Great Rating"Jason... this is Nick the owner... love your response... #1 - taking money out of checks is not correct.... we do a monthly dinner for Special Olympics and at the last meeting I said to them that if they don't sell at least 4 tickets to help out the cause, which 100% of the profits goes to Special Olympics, that yes, it would come out of their checks. Have we done this? No... This was to put a little motivation into them to help out a great cause... The .50 cent charge would be for a daily special.. such as wings.. we get scammers trying order 20 wings then want to take 10 home. Knowing it's a dine in only special. So before you go out on social media, I'd maybe get the straight answers first. If you got charge .50 for taking something out, please let me know. When you say I treat our staff like shit... That's pretty hilarious...For one I'm never there because I work from home and Rodney and Bethany run the bar. I provide my staff with bonuses / incentives / holiday parties for doing good. They must have a new supplier of wings cause I remember them being twice as big & actually have flavor. Disappointing to say the least.

I've been here multiple times, and depending on what you like in a bar really determines on when you want to go. If you are looking for a loud bar, packed with people where you can barely move, go on a Friday and Saturday night. If you are more like me and want a place where you can sit and talk, catch a game or just have a beer, go in the afternoon. I'm not really fond of the atmosphere, it seems so impersonal. This is a big bar, with a lot of space. multiple pool tables and dart boards. I didn't take the time to explore the entire building, but there were a lot of different bar games available to customers. When you first walk in, the bar is like an Island in the front of the building, with people able to sit on every side of it. This gives a lot of bar space for people to sit, and I like that. although I'm not sure how the staff feels about having to muscle past patrons to get to the kitchen and vice verse because the kitchen has no connection to the bar. There are A LOT of TVs here. I didn't bother counting, because you couldn't turn with out looking at at least four. With this many TVs one would think that you wouldn't have to listen to patrons argue over watching NASCAR or baseball, they could have put one on one TV, and the other on another. I was there this past weekend with my wife. We were up in Loves Park and I decided to stop in as there have been a lot of rave reviews on here for the place of late. For lunch my wife just wanted their queso dip. She liked it and I tried it. It tasted like one that I make at home for football partys. A basic blend of Velveeta, canned chili, green chilis and sour cream. (I'm not saying that is their recipe, that's mine; their's just tasted like it) If you go in there and just want something to munch on, this is a good choice. I had their Italian beef and Mozzarella Flat-bread. I picked this because on the menu it was listed as one of the favorites of their regulars. I can see why. It had a good taste to it, it was slightly over cooked as it was burnt on the edges, but that can easily happen with this type of sandwich. I did have a problem with the meat, it was a little tough and dry. I generally expect my Italian beef to be juicy and tender. The service here was pretty good. The bartender was the only one in the front working. I think I saw a cook and maybe a manager floating around, but we only interacted with the Bartender. I don't want to say the service was bad, because it wasn't. That Bartender busted her hump to help everyone and was constantly running around. Bless her for trying, but there were times we would have to wait a while between drinks because she was flying everywhere.I just think that for the size of the bar and the number of patrons, they may have needed a second bartender or waitress to assist. I will say that I will never go back here at night unless I'm dragged. Not my kind of bar at night. During the day, I probably would stop in if I was in the neighborhood. Oh, and they will hard sell you on their discount club. Since it was free, I didn't see any harm in signing up.

It loses stars for not serving french fries at all. And for having pizza with cheese that tasted like it was made from powder. But it may be the only bar in the Rockford area with lots of games, so yay!
